Stats from Saturday’s Games vs. East Brunswick and Hillsborough (4/3/10)

Posted by Barry Marenberg on April 5, 2010

(1) Some relevant Stats from game 1 on 4/3/10 vs. New Brunswick:

 – Scoring Percentage: We shot 41% meaning 7 goals out of 17 shots on goal – not bad at all.

Goals: Goals were scored by Barletta, Duffy, Nieves and Castagna.

Assists: On the 7 goals scored, 2 were assisted (by Kingsley and Nieves) and the other 5 were unassisted.  I’d like to increase the number of assists.  This we will work on in practice.

Save/Clears: Connor Morang had 2 saves and successfully cleared 4 out of 5 times.  Very Nice!  That’s a great stat for him and our transition defensemen and middies.

Face-Offs: we won 3 out of 7 face-offs.  This is something we need to improve on so that we can have more possessions.  This we will work on in practice.

Ground Balls: the team picked up 14 ground balls in the game.  If we can increase this number along with winning face-offs we will be in great shape.

(2)  Stats from game 2 on 4/3/10 vs. Hillsborough:

Scoring Percentage: We shot 29% in game 2.  5 goals on 17 shots on goal.  More players took shots on goal in this game then in game 1 and we will continue to work on shooting so that more players actually score on their shots.

Goals: Goals were scored by Pope, Barletta, McCormick and Castagna.

Assists: On the 5 goals scored, 1 was assisted (by Duffy) and the other 4 were unassisted.

Save/Clears: Connor Morang had 3 saves and successfully cleared twice.  James Duffy played the second half in goal and had 1 clear.

Face-Offs: we won 3 out of 4 face-offs.  Nice.

Ground Balls: as in game 1, the team picked up 14 ground balls in the game.

(note that the stats are not comprehensive and not complete.  Sometimes we all like to watch the game and we miss recording a particular stat.  The stats here are only provided for informational purposes and are not official)
